HISTORY
In 1989, the original Bai Tong started as a small restaurant near the Sea-Tac airport by the former Thai Airways flight attendant, Chanpen Lapangkura. She called her restaurant ‘Bai Tong’, which means banana leaf in Thai.
The main purpose was to cater to Thai Airways crew members. She brought in top restaurant chefs from Bangkok and fed the flight crew meals like the authentic ones they had back home.Her business grew, and she relocated to a former root-beer restaurant and drive-in by the airport’s north end.
Today, Bai Tong is the standard for authentic Thai food in the Seattle area. We promise to keep improving, striving to offer the absolute best Thai cuisine to our customers.
Food is delicious and the staff is super friendly and hospitable. The service is world-class and I will bring more friends in my next visit.
Delicious food, beautiful restaurant. We usually get carryout here, and we appreciate that we can pick the spice level. The quality is consistent, and food is always fresh and awesome.The restaurant is also beautiful for the couple of times we ate in. We had a lot of fun taking our kids there. Nice cocktail options and they were on point and not too sweet.
Beautiful place with a great fancy atmosphere the ambiance is extraordinary and the food is authentic Thai. I loved the fast service with a modern youthful approach, meaning they understand fast pace without making you feel rushed. Food was great and not lacking on presentation or quality for a takeout experience!
